When you reset your G68, you can load to one of several saved states, each of which is referred to as a "type". The G68 is delivered with several factory types. Although factory types cannot be modified, you can use the Configuration Program to create user types, which can be used in a similar way. Each user type has a name (up to 10 characters in length) of your choice. The G68 holds a maximum of 12 user types.
When the controller is a G68, the Configuration Program can fetch and store user types. If you wish to fetch a particular type, rather than the current settings, check the "Use Types" button on the fetch dialogue. Shortly after you click Start, you will be presented with a list of types present in the product. You can choose to fetch current settings only (that is, the default action) or to fetch any of the user types. Factory types cannot be fetched into the Configuration Program. You can check the Use Types box when storing in an analogous manner. In the latter case, assuming you have not reached the maximum of 12 user types, you will have the option of creating a new type as well as storing to an existing type. When storing, current settings are always stored as well as the selected type.
