What is an MFU?
MFU stands for Meridian Flash Upload. MFUs are binary files used to program the firmware of Meridian products; each file is tagged with its location within the product, so it can be stored without specifying additional parameters.
How do I store an MFU to a Meridian product?
From time to time it may be necessary to store a new MFU to a Meridian product in order to perform a software upgrade. To do this, select the Store MFU entry from the File menu. A dialog box, similar to others displayed when connecting to a product, is displayed. Browse to the MFU to be stored (or type its name in the edit box) and click Start when you are ready. While the store is in progress, a bar will be displayed indicating how much of the file remains to store.
What does a "This MFU is not marked..." warning mean?
MFUs are tagged with the identity of the product(s) to which they may safely be stored. This mechanism is designed to avoid the in advertent storing of an MFU to the wrong type of product, which would usually lead to the product being left in an unusable state. Older MFUs (generated prior to the G series product release) do not contain this information. If you are downloading such an MFU, and you are sure that it is designed for the product with which you are communicating, then you may ignore the warning.
